Bones
Cranium- Protects the brain.
Clavicle-
Humerus-
Scapula- Connects humerus to clavicle.
Sternum- helps protect lungs, heart, and blood vessels.
Rib- Protects internal organs from damage.
Vertebra- Protects soft spinal cord and support the head.
Ulna- Movement of the extremities.
Radius- Allows radial movement.
Carpals-
Metacarpals- structure for movement of hands.
Phalanges- Bones that make up the fingers and toes.
Pelvis- Protects organs.
Femur- Maintain balance or equilibrium.
Patella- Protection of the knee joint and leg.
Tibia- Support weight of the body.
Fibula- Provide attachment to muscles.
Tarsals- Short bones in foot.
Metatarsals- Provide balance, stability, and functionality.
Ligaments- Attach bone to bone.
Tendons- Attach muscle to bone.

Joints
Hinge- Perform a simple open and close motion and found in elbows, knees, and phalanges.
Pivot- Allows head to turn side to side and are only found between the axis and atlas vertebrae.
Ball and Socket- Greatest range of motion (360) and found in shoulders and hips.
Angular- Allows movement in many angles, but not as free as ball and socket. Found in wrists and ankles.

How Skeletal System works with other systems
- It works with the Nervous System because the skull protects the brain.
- It works with Integumentary System because the skeleton supports the skin.
- It works Circulatory System because red and white blood cells are made of bone marrow.
